Citadines Berawa Beach Bali – Building on the excitement of receiving the IAI award last month, we are proud to share another achievement—recognition from the Indonesia Property Awards for our ongoing project, Citadines Berawa Beach Hotel in Canggu, in the architecture landscape design category. The Indonesia Property Awards is part of the prestigious Property Guru Asia Property Awards, which has been honoring excellence in property, design, and development since 2005.
Located in the coastal village of Berawa, Canggu—a rising destination for surfers and free-spirited travelers—this project takes full advantage of its beachside location. With the hot, humid climate in mind, we aimed to create a lush, shaded jungle atmosphere, offering guests a perfect blend of coastal and tropical environments.
Different types of forests are incorporated into various parts of the hotel. A mini forest can be found in the inner garden near the lobby, while a jungle-inspired landscape on the rooftop features diverse plant species, making it appear as though trees are growing from the roof. Alongside these rainforest-inspired areas, simpler garden designs can be found around the pool to complement activities and at the restaurant, which boasts a spacious lawn for a playground.
To enhance the tropical ambiance, we used large-leaved plants typically found in the jungle, such as Alocasia and Monstera, along with broad-leaved trees. Water features, including indoor curtain waterfalls and ponds, add a cooling effect and contribute to the overall sense of relaxation. For hardscaping, we utilized local materials like kerobokan sandstone and lava stone, as well as recycled ironwood for decking.
This project delivers a unique tropical escape amid the lively energy of Berawa, Canggu. Our aim is to offer a diverse, thoughtful design that respects the location and meets the needs of our clients. This recognition not only celebrates our achievements but also drives us to continue delivering high-quality products and services to our clients, developers, and all stakeholders.
